    Seasoned pro's... Meh.
They lost for the reasons above but more importantly because they failed to attack when Australia batted last on a wearing pitch.

No pressure put on the batsmen and in the absence of close field positions, runs flowed far too easily.

This is not what battle-hardened cricketers do. Australia, under Clarke woiuld not have played that way.

This was a meritorious victory from a position of near hopelessness on a very difficult pitch to bat on.

The Windies did this in India late last year as well - amassed excellent 1st innings totals then blow up in a session in their 2nd innings. Should have won 2 of the 3 tests over there instead of losing 1 and drawing 1. Take Chanderpaul out of their batting line-up and the rest combined don't even get to 50 tests.

When was the last time Australia had a spin bowler open the bowling in the first innings of a test match?

Pitch obviously was a turning, but still a brave decision for Clarke to open with Beer, especially considering he has not played test cricket for so long.

You should see how much is was turning. Massive amounts for Day 2 wicket.

His batting hasn't been great ( on tough pitches), but his glove work has been impressive.

From what I have seen his glove work has been ok but I haven't seen enough to say it's been impressive.

Well I suppose any reasonable glove work would be impressive compared to the previous keeper.

Has he dropped any catches or missed stumpings? Many byes given away?

I thought he was batting well and trying to protect his wicket when its needed, made a 20 that was timely, unlike Haddin who seems to not care and just go out playing silly shots at the most inappropriate time.

A dozen in the 1st innings of the first test but not many since then.

The previous keeper has nothing to with my view on his performance. I don't think he takes the ball cleanly and seems to stand too far back when the pace bowlers are on. Takes too many deliveries below his knees.

Nice leg side catch off the spinner

Beer is playing??? Didn't even realise he was still in contention.

It's a pity the weather intervened again, I reckon it could have been an exciting final two sessions. All the bowlers had a good match, and all batsmen aside from Hussey were disappointing; lots of starts in the first inings but none really went on with it.
