I'm looking forward to the football and to see how my guys in Oscar, Sturridge, Bertrand, Romeu, Mata and Azpilicueta(maybe (and maybe Hulk)) go.

In a warm up football match Brazil defeated Great Britain 2-0.

Certain sports should not be at the Olympics, sorry Chef, World Football is one of them

It wouldn't phase me if it wasn't, but it is so I will find it hard not to follow my boys.

It's a winter sport anyway, so whats it doing in the Summer Olympics.

I guess the only reason I say that is because certain sports, especially team related and with a ball have their own big highlights, like the world cup. I think Basketball, Hockey, Baseball (I think its still in), don't belong to the Olympics. For track and field and a few obscure sports its their highlight, or pinnacle so to speak.

Anyway, no use complaining, just sit back and enjoy.

The synchronised swimming will be a highlight this year with Natalia Ischenko and Svetlana Romashina to lead ,reigning gold medalist's, Russia to a well deserved Gold.
Although it won't come easy with the USA paddling right at their fishtails.

I don't think we are going to do that well in terms of the medal tally at this Olympics.

Thanks that's probably good betting info.

Why is there no men's synchronised swimming I wonder?

It's not open to men at the Olympics. Dunno the ins and outs of it though.

Hope you're kidding. Synchronized swimming a highlight?

It's dead boring stuff (dont even think its a sport) like this has turned me right off the Olympics.
Add dressage, beach volleyball, bmx, rhythmic gymnastics, tennis, etc.

Football of course starts 1-2 days before the opening of the games. Weightlifting is a highlight of the games.
