    Hilfenhaus - Career over?

    Pattinson -no. 1
    Siddle - no. 2
Johnson - back to some form
Starc - 14 wickets in two tests
    Bird - great start
    Cummins - big future
    Hazelwood - likely type
Hastings - depth, possibly all rounder spot.

Can Ben get into the top three spots gain. Will be tough no he's on the wrong side of thirty. I think it may be Career ending injury.

    Thoughts?

Not so sure, he has surprised before and if he can get himself fit he could be handy in England.

Also considering how fragile physically and mentally our fast bowling stocks are, surely he still has a role to play.

Over the last 4 tests this summer we have played 7 pace bowlers (not including Watson). We also had Hazlewood as 12th man.

With the rotation policy and injury prone nature of the trade, you're never far off being in or out.

He is struggling and has lost some pace from the previous summer. Not sure if he has dropped down far in the pecking order but there are now some ahead of him.

Might be a better tourist than playing on Australian pitches.

          Yep, that's his advantage.

I think the Australian selectors pace bowling rankings might go something like
          1- Pattinson
          2- Siddle
          Some distance
3- Cummins (if he is ever fit)
          Some distance
          4- Johnson
          5- Starc
6- Bird (I'd have him higher)
          7- Hilfenhaus
          Some distance
          8- Hazlewood (if ever fit)
          9- Hastngs

Never say never, we were saying the same about Johnson a year ago. Needs something in the deck to be a real force though

Johnson was young enough though and his problems were control.

Hilf is getting on. Really hard to see him make it back but as Rocco said we've played 7 in 4 tests so anything is possible.

Not the same bowler he was 12 months ago.
Seems when the arm gets lower the worse he bowls(ala Johnson)
Had knee issues as well, and is behind Bird now in the pecking order.

He's been up and down for a while. 12 months ago he was better than the previous 12 months.

A couple of the bowlers I think benefited when McDermott was looking after them.
