Granted the training demands are less, but I would have though that the recovery processes, the physio's and medico's are non-existent

Granted it's nowhere near an AFL level but my club has trainers, masseuses, physios/chiros available for players and I dare say most clubs would have some level of professional care for the players. Paid players should be expected to fork out for their own treatment out of their payments as well.

They cheat, how else can they get away with it?. I can only think that the WFRL aren't that concerned with the crowds and the publicity they attract.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

That's as impressive a fall from grace as any I can ever remember.

Spoke to an inlaw of his a couple months ago who pretty much confirmed what had been said on here about him not really having the drive for AFL footy anymore.

You can call it a fall from grace but it seems like this will suit everyone better. Club has a spot open for someone who wants to play AFL and Biggs gets to play with mates without the hard work of AFL

Agree. Shane Harvey is another that simply didn't have the drive for full time football and that's perfectly fine.

A mate of mine who is a good friend of the Harvey family is adamant that Shane is the more talented of the two brothers. He simply wasn't interested in full time football.

Good luck to Soupy. I thought he could have been given a few more opportunities with us, especially in last 2 years. Always remember a few afl games early in his time with us when Tom looked reasonably promising as a ruck forward. And when he careered into and broke goal post too. Enjoyed watching his good tapwork and occasional big mark at WO in vfl, where he seemed to be a bit of a mentor for the young ones.

In one of his first games against Sydney I remember his taking contested marks and nailing 45-50m goals. I thought we might have a player. I think he backed that up a few weeks later with a bunch of goals. Then when Camhead starting dismantling highly fancied rucks and starting get attention in the medi stream presses I thought he might just make it.

But then last year when Bevo could play him, or put Boyd in the centre square ruck and run to FF, and then have Jong, Dunk's & Bont take the around the ground ruck... Bevo chose that option. His papers were stamped irrespective of his contract length.

I wish him the very best, but i also doubt he can he reach a height much beyond what we've seen to date. But good for him to get another opportunity and hopefully he takes out (just not against us).

Good luck to him. Goldy isn’t getting any younger, he may play a fair bit of footy at the Roos.
