They didn't add to it, they swapped 1 fringe ruck for another. I don't have an issue with it but I can't see Campbell improving them next year.

It's like saying that you don't need to insure the car. If you don't intend on having an accident is it still a waste or money well spent?
I don't see having an extra ruck man especially given Ryder struggled a bit with injuries last year as a waste of a list spot.

With the 666 the ruck has become so important. Basically since we won the flag using the third man up they've done everything to maximise the benefit of a decent ruck division.

Be interesting to see how the Pies go if Grundy can re-capture his best form.

We don't know the reasons behind the decision but at 30 and soon to be 31 he will take a significant pay cut late in his career if he doesn't change his mind.
Given it is now public knowledge and he is well known he won't get latitude in enjoying the freedoms that are about to open up for many of us.

I wonder if other players will now follow this lead?

I heard he's not refusing it, it was just being delivered in a floating overhead manner and he didn't want any part of that.

But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

There is some speculation that Fergus Greene might be given another AFL lifeline. Good player but just kept getting injured.
It will be interesting to see if he gets another chance.

Honestly I'd take him back as a rookie. I liked him.

I thought Greene was someone we could have kept as a genuine forward, because, genuine forwards are good things to have.

Hope he does get another crack at it.
                              TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I too hope Fergus has another chance, whether with us or elsewhere. He had a spark about him - just needed a bit more luck with the No-injury gods.
