Re: Following our ex's...................
A few people from Totty came to my high school (Sunshine West High) and we would often go to their place, so I knew the area pretty well back then. (1970s). Not sure why they would go all the way to West Sunshine, surely there was a high school closer?FFC: Established 1883

Re: Following our ex's...................
Now that you mention it there weren't many high schools around. I don't think there was a Totty high, just Totty tech. The only high schools I can think of were Maribyrnong near Highpoint, Footscray high in Spotswood, Footscray Girls in Footscray, Paisley and Willy highs on Willy. There were tech schools in Willy and Footscray. That's not a lot of government secondary schools for the amount of kids there were. There must have been more. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

Re: Following our ex's...................
A lot of us went to braybrook high or Tottenham tech.
Tottenham baptist cricket club used two grounds , Tottenham tech ( which is now all houses ) and Henry Turner reserve which is now Merv Hughes oval. ( Parksides old football ground )
We were all just off melon street, Zenos house is in melon street and still there , he moved to Keilor when he left primary school.
My old house is still there 13 alwyn court which sold last week for $745000 ! It's an old concrete commission home. Wow !
Phil Okeefe lived in the corner of joy and melon , I think his house is still standing too.Bring back the biffComment

Re: Following our ex's...................
Alister eventually married a Lisa Brett( Altona girl) who was a runner in the commonwealth games, they bought a houses just up from the sunshine indoor cricket centre .
I lost contact around that time but he ended up at Ballarat , St. Albans ( Geelong) he is now back in Bairnsdale, caught up with him at the grand final. Has not changed one iota.
Butch Litchfield was another player I grew up with who played reserves I think.
He could have been anything but wasn't to be . A great bloke but the demons got hold of him he isn't in a good place anymore.Bring back the biffComment

Re: Following our ex's...................
Heh! We played Chisholm in the qualifying rounds of the Herald Shield the year they won it, it must have been 1982. Anyway we beat a pretty poor Totty tech the round before by ten goals and were thinking we were it and a bit. We strutted around school like peacocks telling everyone what we were going to do with the poncy private school boys when we got hold of them them on Skinner reserve.
Anyway we worked ourselves into a frenzy in the rooms before the game, I've never seen groupthink like it. Then we run down the race onto the ground and take one look at the other mob and I've never seen a team deflate like we did. Puffed out chests went back to normal and heads started to drop because they had kids like the McPherson brothers, Al Ford (i'm pretty sure he was playing) guys like that. Twenty something goals they scored and we kicked three points. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

Re: Following our ex's...................
Yeah, we played cricket against Tony's team in juniors and there was something about him that set him apart. I've never been able to work out what it was. He was a really good player but it was more than just that, it was like he controlled the tempo of the game and knew what was about to happen.
The batsman would play a shot through square leg and you'd think "here's runs" but he'd be there fielding the ball when you'd seen him two balls before at second slip taking the ball from the keeper and throwing it back to the bowler. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

Re: Following our ex's...................
For all the hoopla about Jones' reinvigoration, the two most dominant key forward performances of the year (this, and Hawkins' 27 touch, 6 goal effort) have been on him.- I'm a visionary - Only here to confirm my biases -Comment
