Yes - holds the AFL record for the longest amount of time between a debut game and his 50th game IIRC.
Eker royalty, which included time as a playing coach in the NEAFL before getting re-rookied two years later.
Reid is a great story of preserverance. Can’t imagine his outlasted most of the recruits from 2007 draft ! His playing in a strong side and in a gf ! An amazing story

And he's done it all while dealing with diabetes his entire career.

That's what I really admire about him. My whole family is riddled with diabetes and I know for a fact how debilitating and exhausting it is. I have no idea where Sam gets the energy to play AFL. He must train so much harder than everyone else on the list just to get to the basic level of fitness required. And when he gets to that stage of fitness then the really starts to work
Sam Reid is a hero.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Sam Reid is one of my heroes.
It would go well beyond training. He'd have to eclipse Daniel Cross' manic preparations just to get on the park.
Throw that in with a blood sugar test every time he came to the bench, carefully controlling his sugar levels through the game (Far from ideal when you're smashing through gatorade to rehydrate I'd imagine) and that's a hell of a lot of hurdles to clear just to be a depth player.

Dale Weightman also had the same problem and going back 30 years wouldn’t have had the technology they have today.
Unbelievable drive and determination/ courage to be able to do it.
Lukas Webb has signed for the Northern Blues having missed out on a spot on Carlton’s AFL list.
He is a pretty good footballer, showed enough at AFL level before it all turned to shit for him. His story is one of the shit ones that makes the cut and thrust of AFL pretty sad sometimes.
TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Yep, good player. If he can shake his injuries and get a solid run at it then there will a spot on a list and in a team somewhere for him.
