I think Jake is a bit like Aker, in that he doesn't know that he doesn't know what he doesn't know.

When Aker joined us he was weak and skinny (relative to AFL requirements), wouldn't listen to our fitness staff and didn't have the power he once did. To his credit he did in 2008 but his career is littered with examples of just not having the basic understanding that he might not be right all the time.

There were already stories before Jake got drafted of him disagreeing with rehab advice. After a great start to his career it just flattened and each year it's the same old Jake doing the same old silly things or not preparing, and you can't help but think he just doesn't understand that being right and the Package all the time isn't doing him any favours.

Jake could have been anything talent wise. One of the top few I've ever seen at our club.
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Yet Essendon couldn’t give him away fast enough. I get it, the highlights are great and he is an exceptional talent, but do I worry about him showing up when it matters? Not much. He’s played one good game against us in 6 years.

The way I see the Stringer to GWS working is if it allows Toby to play more midfield.

I don't see how GWS needed another forward and Toby already does everything Jake does with more passion and reliability.

HIGH-PROFILE recruit Jake Stringer has impressed Greater Western Sydney coach Adam Kingsley with his "terrific" work ethic.

After seven seasons at Essendon, Stringer found his way to the Giants during last year's trade period as he attempts to make a mark at his third club.

The 30-year-old is coming off a 42-goal season with the Bombers, second behind only Kyle Langford (43).

Often criticised when at Essendon and the Western Bulldogs for his dedication and consistency, Stringer has made a flawless start at Engie Stadium.

"I've seen a terrific work ethic," Kingsley told reporters of Stringer on Friday.

"I've seen him embrace the way we want him to play in our system really well.

"(He has been) training almost every session. Certainly post-Christmas he's been in every session.

Is this just a flash in the pan ,or has he finally realised that this is his last chance to produce the football he knows he can and most people know he can ?.

We've all seen this story before...every pre season for the past ten years.

He'll have a good year for the Giants but I'll be shocked if it is any better or different to recent seasons.

Much like my sex life he’ll have an amazing 15 minutes every 5-6 weeks and be pretty steady but anonymous outside of that. And just maybe we’ll have to resolve ourselves to the idea that that is as good as it is going to get and that it will have to be enough.

Is that 15 minutes spread out over a few events? It's rare for Jake to put together 15 minutes straight of high quality footy.

                  So you’re ’The Package’?

One of the websites I use frequently especially for Supercoach analysis has recently added the impact of tagging. GWS are by far the most frequent employer of assigning tagging roles.
I wonder why they can use it so much more than other sides? The list of bigger names in the competition they target is impressive and I wonder if it gives them a point of difference in the comp?

                      The site is DFS Australia

Finn Callaghan has signed a four-year deal with GWS. Locked in until the end of 2029 when he will reach free agency.

Apparently he's knocked back a big contract offer from the Saints.
