The player has way too much power. You should only earn that power when you are a free agent. How this has played out with Bailey Smith, what is the difference if he was a free agent? Basically zero. Because the Cats have us by balls and can do as they please really.
I would love vegenece against Geelong. I hate them. There is a famous story in how in how Steve Jobs handled this type of behaviour when Apple was a beast and had leverage. Gee whiz I wish we had some leverage to hurt them. We should target their best young talent and pay overs out of spite. Stuff them.
We can?t pay their players more than Cotton On and other Geelong dick riders pay them under the table. If we came up with an offer for Ollie Dempsey, some local whale with a real estate portfolio will just chuck him a coastal property and it?s game over for us. The game is rigged.

Yep, nothing makes that clearer than being forced to sign Riley Garcia for 3 years just to keep him.

Might be time we encourage Mission to offer Butters a lifetime supply of free flatbreads of choice ...

You don't think we should have re-signed Sonny for 3?

Can't make jokes about Butters any more. The minister for humour will swoop.

He's gone from not playing to a three year deal.
I think in reality considering his standing with the MC, one was the likely scenario.
I thought two was pretty generous.
I really like him but he hasn't set the world on fire.

I think we definitely should have signed him, I think the way the three years came about is a farce.

Did you disagree with the two year offer, or the alleged timing of it?
I think we should have offered one or two years earlier, but if we had brought in Peatling and XOH we might have seen Garcia as expendable. Once Peatling was gone we made sure we kept Garcia, and offered an additional year to match/beat competing offers.
